I had a stroll in Williamsburg today. Again. After having met some boys of yeshivas playing in the street, and shared a table with an old man along with his caregiver in a coffee place, I bumped into a book street faire right on the overpass of Brooklyn highway. On my way back home, I experienced an unforgettable social event: I have attended, by chance, a mass kabbolas ponim (reception) that has been held to welcome the chief Rabbi Rav Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss of Jerusalem, who is now visiting New York. A large podium has been assembled on Taylor St., near the Lee Avenue section, where many thousands welcomed Rav Weiss. Talmud Torah Children attended in their Shabbos fineries, in a special reserved area; women were asked to remain on the side.
