Holi is the festival of colors. It takes place at the beginning of the Indian summer (early March).
I celebrated Holi in Nagpur, (Maharashtra, Central India), together with my wonderful Indian Family: the Lanjewars.
The day before Holi, colors are sold in every small marketplace as well as necklaces made by sugar to serve as a gifts for kids.
Bonfires are lit on the eve of the festival: prayers are said and offered around them
During Holi, people throw colored powder and water at each other. Below some pictures from my neighborhood, where pink seemed to be the most popular color!
